Rogelio Alejandro Lopez, PhD (he/him/él) is a scholar and media maker with an interest in social movements, media activism, and youth civic media. Rogelio earned his doctorate in communication at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where his dissertation examined the media practices of youth activists involved in contemporary social movements. His work has been published in Media and Communication, Brown Journal of World Affairs, and Popular Culture and the Civic Imagination: Case Studies of Creative Social Change. Rogelio currently teaches media production to undergraduates at USC Annenberg as adjunct faculty and continues to develop original research.
